Meadowbank Ward is Bedford Hospitalās Neonatal Unit, situated in the Trustās dedicated Women and Childrenās Department in the Cygnet Wing. The Neonatal Unit employs specialist Neonatal Nurses to care for premature and unwell new-born babies and their families.
The Meadow Bank (Neo-natal) Ward can be found on the second floor of the Cygnet Wing Women and Childrenās Unit block and is serviced by Reception G.

The paediatric department deals with acute and emergency conditions in children and newborn babies and is made up of an outpatients department, two wards and an ambulatory care service.
The department treats every child and baby as an individual, with unique physical, psychological, spiritual and educational needs. It also recognises the importance of family involvement and support, and aims to provide support for families to return home with confidence and knowledge which enables them to continue care in the childās natural environment.
Riverbank ward has 16 beds/cots and cares for children and teenagers from 0 ā 16 years. There are two high dependency beds for sicker children and a dedicated childrenās day surgical service. The Ambulatory Care Service led by a consultant and a nurse practitioner provides a service for day assessments and day investigations, urgent GP referrals, children with open access and ward attendees and is based on Riverbank ward.
Meadowbank ward is a modern special care baby unit.
The childrenās outpatient department is based in Cygnet Wing opposite adjacent to the entrance. The department runs routine outpatient clinics including speciality clinics in cardiology, respiratory medicine, oncology, diabetes, rheumatology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics and dermatology.

The Swannery
The Swannery is the main restaurant on site and is located along the main corridor, near the Kempston Road entrance to the hospital.
Le Bistro
Le Bistro is the hospital cafƩ which is situated along the main corridor and is opposite The Swannery.
Vending Machines
There are vending machines offering snacks, sandwiches and hot and cold drinks located outside the outpatients department, and outside the lifts to the main ward block.
There areĀ also some coffee machines available in outpatients clinics.
Hospital Shop
The shop is located by the main reception desk at Kempston Road entrance and offers a range of gifts, cards, message balloons, newspapers, magazines, soft toys, groceries and toiletries.
